About me

Hi there, my name’s James - or Jim - whichever you prefer and I am the creator of Jim’s Tutoring. Welcome.

Currently I am studying a Doctor of Medicine after trying many different careers, ranging from scientific research to working at a biomedical device start-up. Ultimately, why I have settled on becoming a doctor is the combination of science, life-long learning, communication, interpretation of statistics, and teaching.

I have been tutoring for ten years now and still find it incredibly rewarding seeing students finally get something that has never made sense by explaining something in simple and clear ways. Learning doesn’t have to be hard, yet a lot of educators seem to enjoy making it so. I keep my lessons as engaging as possible, frequently creating drawings and quizzing my students.

A lot of my tutoring is around science, maths, or statistics. I have developed my expertise in these subjects through my Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry), Master of Biomedical Science, and Medicine degrees, as well as through my professional experiences in research and industry. I love being able to share my enthusiasm for these subjects with my students.
